Card Model Making
We were given a are marked out with masking tape on the floor in which we could devise and create our own kingdom/city/land.
Ideas:
- the bigger the better.
- Castle - gates, bridge, turrets, walls, flags.
- make 1 main castle
- put walls around our given area to separate us from the other cities.
- create surrounding areas- woods, landscape, houses & gardens, farm.
"We decided to create the castle at least A4 size, we decided that we would make our kingdom larger than the other groups had planned to make their's, as we wanted to stand out and be different"
This was the area we were given to create our kingdom on.
This is the whole area that the class was given to create our individual cities/kingdom's on.
Making the central section of the castle and starting to develop our ideas on how to make the castle turrets.
Creating a cone to go on the top of the cylindrical castle turret.
Completed castle turrets.
Sorting out placement of the main castle structure and turrets in out groups given space.
Creating a second room the the castle building.
Putting castellated walls around the boundary of our groups given area.
Adding houses and gardens to the area surrounding the main castle building, we also added small details such as hills, trees, and animals.
Our completed area.
The whole of the classes, completed card modelled area.
"I really enjoyed this day, as I love being able to use 3D methods to express my ideas, whilst still sticking to the given brief, yet being able to express myself."
as a whole the class decided that we wouldn't destroy our creation at the end of the day, but instead we would leave them there so that we can add to them and continue to develop our cities/kingdoms as we are inspired or compelled to - I was very please with this idea
